This diagram is the Tree of Life. It is the basis of all teachings in the Western Mystery Tradition. Given the keys, it will reveal many things to you, including:
- The process by which you and your Consciousness came into existence.
- The levels of your being: the physical self, the personality, the higher self and the undivided spirit from which all life and consciousness flow in a continuous stream.
- The Tree is divided into three "pillars". The right pillar is the origin of "force" or that which initiates action or change. The left pillar is the origin of "form" or that which sustains so that the initiating energy can "go forth" and deepen its creation.
- The middle pillar is very special. It is the pillar of consciousness and "return". A return to where you came from, a return to your inner being, a level of self bathed in love, confidence and creativity.
You can come into initial contact with this inner self with a few hours of the right practice. It's not difficult because it belongs to you anyway! To begin the real life journey towards it requires a cleansing of vision and motive; and a resolve to acquire the techniques to do so. As a learner driver, you wouldn't expect to get in a car and drive it without some tuition. So it is with Magical training. It takes time and care and then you don't run into things you shouldn't.
