.....Before you can show such strength, however, you must search for it, and to find it you will need to make a journey further than the furthest star and yet close as your own heart center. Just as the Sun is the center of our Solar System, so the heart center is the Sun and the focus of every man and woman. In the Main Course which follows this preliminary set of lessons, you will learn about the different centers in the body; so here it is sufficient to tell you that there is a line of sensitive areas, or Chakras as they are called, running down through the center of the body. The first is the head center, and is to be found on the very top of the cranium. The second is placed at the throat, just below the "Adams Apple." The third is the heart center, and is located at the solar plexus, while the fourth is situated at the base of the spine and is connected with the genital area. The fifth, and last, can be found in the area surrounding the soles of the feet.....

.....The more familiar we are with the things that come up on these inner TV screens, the quicker we recognise them. If we don't know them so well, it may take a while for the image and the memory to catch up with one another. This is the reason for the initial hesitation when we are learning another language. We have to wait while meaning and image catch up with the new word for it, in French or whatever we are learning. This is because it is not just one image that we see, but a whole series giving us information at an incredible speed. It is rather like a movie speeded up many times. These pictures contain every known fact on the person, place, or whatever it is that we are seeking information about. Everything, that is, which we personally know about them, even if we have forgotten many things on the conscious level. As we set eyes on the "target," all these relevant facts come up on the all-important screen. When the person was last seen, what the relationship is to us or to others we know, memory of voice patterns, tone and accent, so that we can recognise them when they speak. All this, and much more, is provided in a millionth of a second......

.....In the school in which I was trained, we were required to have a working knowledge of at least two pantheons and their mythos. It is a practice that, unfortunately, is not always followed in many of the occult schools today. This is a great pity, for the myths contain much in the way of training and ancient ritual, whilst the nature and character of the gods themselves provide an insight into ancient man's outlook on religious thought and its development. It will also provide students new to such training with their first steps in the use of correspondences and basic symbols.....

.....The teaching regarding Group Minds and Group Souls is a very important part of your training. The understanding of it is necessary to the Art of Magic, both High and Low. They are very often confused with each other, yet they are quite different in structure and usage. A Group Mind is the result of organised thought by a group of individuals; its basis is a subject about which they feel very strongly and which arouses great emotion in them. Never forget that emotion is the basis of a Group Mind. Indeed, it is one of the two basics in the Art of Magic as a whole - the other being Energy.....

.....It is taught that the Mysteries you are now studying appeared on the physical plane first in the ancient lands of Lemuria and Atlantis - Lemuria in the East, and Atlantis in the West. To these already-old lands came the great Manus, or Teachers, who were sent, so the legends tell us, by the Primal Parent to teach mankind. More often than not, they arrived in a seemingly natural way, as did the Nazarene many centuries later, born of those to whom they were to become the Teachers. But the spirit that filled their earthly bodies was of an infinitely finer material than those of ordinary men. Their "apartness" was recognised from an early age, and in childhood they were set apart and destined to be priests and rulers. In turn, their children were looked on as very special and royal individuals. From such happenings as these came the stories of the Fall of the Beni Elohim, the Sons of God who, the Bible tells us, mated with the daughters of men to produce special children. As with many things, these stories were distorted by both time and the passing from one to another by word of mouth; what was forgotten was invented and filled in by the imagination of the story teller.....
